Tkvarcheli Railway Station
A small railway station in the war damaged town of Tkvarcheli, nearby buildings were damaged in the war and subsequent unsuccessful siege (October 1992 to September 1993)
The railway station used to run from Sukhumi along the coast, up into the hills and to the mines near Akarmara, they have not been in use since the Abkhazian/Georgian conflict.
Interesting to note is the name of the station written out in Russian on one side and Abkhazian on the other, in the centre used to be the station name is Georgian, this has been removed.
