Liva (Kemeri) Sanatorium
B, a resort town known for its luxurious health baths and sanatoriums. The sanatorium never opened before the dissolution of the USSR.
When the sanatorium was built it was planned to be a major health resort for High ranking Communist party officials and because of this it was apparently spared no expense, all of the walls were clad in Mahogany and the electronics were Japanese!
The sanatorium had room for 550 guests, spa treatments were to take place on the top floor while entertainment was on the first. There was an additional floor between the entertainment floor and the rooms, this was a specialist floor which contained a fully functioning hospital just in case one of the officials was taken ill, and this floor had its own separate entrance from the ground floor.
Even the guards were catered for and given a floor of their own. A security team of 150 would be housed here.
After the dissolution of the USSR the sanatorium was abandoned it was not long before the building was stripped of anything that had value, leaving it as an empty shell.
