Looking on Google Earth at the small coastal Estonian town we were staying in, I spotted what appeared to be a complex of abandoned buildings about 20 minutes down the road, as we would already be in the area it would be rude not to have a look around.
The buildings turned out to be a Soviet Military base, Naval we guessed from the anchors on the gates and the fact it was right by the water, just over the bay is Russia so it would have been an ideal stop for people and equipment to get from the USSR to the Estonian SSR.
I had a good look for information on this small Naval port when we returned home but could find nothing to add to our assumptions, but stilla very good explore for a hunch and a maybe.
