Gagra Railway Station
Gagra is a main tourist destination for those coming through the Russian / Abkhazian border and is extremely busy in the summer months. But from 1993 - 2014 it did not have a railway due to the consequences of war
As Gagra was such a popular destination for tourists the daily train from Moscow to Sukhumi now stops here, but despite the numbers of passengers the station remains derelict and (mostly) vacant. There is a small door round the back that is open and has a plaque saying department of trains (or possibly transport) but we were not brave enough to say "hi".
I have found a couple of pictures of Gagra station when it was open, the first is from the 1960's and the second is from the 1980's
