Legnica Piano Factory
In 1847 there were 7 piano factories in the German province of Liegnitz.
After WWII the borders changed and Liegnitz Germany became, Legnica Poland. The Factories continued throughout the “communism years” and were still producing 5000 pianos in 1990! The pianos from Legnica were never mass produced and they were made in the “Old World European tradition” making them popular around the world including the biggest buyers Australia, the Orient, Africa, and the Middle East.
Sadly the Piano factory closed in about 1999 judging by the calendars still on the walls.
