Centrale thermique
By the 1870s there were four blast furnaces in this central region of Luxembourg over the next 80 years this number swelled turning Luxembourg into one of the largest producers of steel in Europe. Powering the plants became a priority and a new technique was devolved which meant that the plants could feed back some of the energy released by melting steel back into power production for their own processes, Centrale Thermique was built in 1951 to take advantage of this process and apparently it even provided enough power to supply electricity to nearby homes. Sadly when the last blast furnace closed in 1997 the power plant also became redundant.
