Submarine pens
As we were off to Montenegro for the day it seemed rude not to have a look for the 2 distinct shapes cut out of the hillside near the coast, the trip to them was definitely eventful and involved a lot of hills and then a LOT of down on a rutted track to nowhere, just when it appears you cannot go any further is a small space that looked almost suitable to turn the expedition mobile around (with some hand waving to keep the car from an impromptu swim), so we parked up and went for a bit of a wander and we were not disappointed.
There were 2 submarine tunnels/pens from the Yugoslavian era that had been chiselled out of the coastal rock face as a precaution against attack. Both pens run about 80 metres into he hillside and as they are not that easy to access the metal structures on the front that swung over the pen to hide the entrance from view were still in place.
