Soviet Orphanage
The Manor house was in was bult for the very wealthy Von Stackelberg family in 1821, at the time it was one of the largest and grandest in Estonia.
Under Communism in 1919 the manor and the grounds were nationalised under land reform and shortly afterwards it reopened as an Orphanage.
The orphanage was closed in 1984, maybe due to its quite remote location. It sat unused all though the fall of Communism and only in the mid 1990's was it bought by a private investor; nothing much has happened to it since though and it slowly sits well boarded and decaying.
